Chow & Freisleben Announces Hiring of Attorneys Charlene Chen and Karen Gichtin

Irvine, Calif., - The law firm of Chow and Freisleben, one of Orange County’s premier law firms specializing in commercial and civil trial litigation, has added two new attorneys to its staff, Charlene Chen and Karen Gichtin. 

“We’re extremely pleased to have these two highly regarded attorneys join our firm,” said Alan Freisleben, senior partner, Chow & Freisleben. “This addition to our staff will be critical as we grow, but more importantly allow us to provide clients the personalized attention and high-level counsel they deserve.”

As an Associate at Chow & Freisleben, Charlene Chen will specialize in complex litigation.  Chen is a recent graduate of Chapman University School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctor Degree, cum laude. While there, she was the staff editor of the Nexus Law Journal and the recipient of the CALI Award of Excellence in the Future in several specialty areas.  During law school, she also served as a law clerk in the Economic Crimes Unit for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, and worked for Pacific Life Insurance Company, where she spearheaded a specialized review team focused on resolving complex policy owner title disputes. 

Karen Gichtin, of Counsel to Chow & Freisleben, will focus on insurance bad faith, as well as insurance coverage and legal malpractice defense for the firm’s clients. Prior to joining Chow & Freisleben, Gichtin worked as a consultant, associate and project attorney for various firms and clients, handling complex bad faith litigation and insurance coverage matters, mergers and acquisitions, legal malpractice, among other issues. Gichtin received her Juris Doctor Degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and her Bachelor’s Degree in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
